THE PARK
In the commune of Cochamó , X Region, are the circuits the horseshoe and passed the lion .
Both circuits begin in the El Morro sector and pass through incomparable landscapes. White granite walls in the La Junta sector, a unique waterfall in the El Arco sector, lakes of glacial origin such as Laguna Grande and the Lake Vidal Gormaz, ancestral paintings from the Tehuelche town in the Torrentoso sector and a thick centennial forest on the Steffen River, ending the journey at the beautiful Tagua Tagua Lake.
The circuit is home to numerous species of mammals, birds and amphibians in danger of extinction . It also houses 8,000 hectares of millenary larch. Inside the circuit settlers who maintain a centennial arriera culture.
Their attractions have positioned it as a world-class tourist destination, but threats have also been exacerbated such as subdivisions , the paths of penetration into the native forest and the loss of cultural tradition that this entails.
The territories of the circuit do not have a legal mechanism that ensures their conservation in perpetuity, they are mostly private property, not are part of a National Park, Private Reserve or Sanctuary of nature.
